Digital Infrastructure
Digital Infrastructure is essential to realizing U-Space services, Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), and integration with ATM and other mobility management systems. A collaborative effort involving regulators, authorities, communications, enterprises, UAS solution providers, and pilots is required to create open, connected, and automated airspace for safe drone operations in urban and rural areas. Key aspects include Network-based Remote ID & Positioning, data-sharing interfaces between telecom and aviation, connected drone corridors, and cyber security and privacy measures.
One of the main topics of discussion within the group is how to leverage existing infrastructure for air mobility operations. Reusing current technologies, such as mobile networks and cloud services, could significantly reduce costs and accelerate the adoption of drones at scale.
